These terms are the agreement between you and Iconic Riviera LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company that operates from Monaco and publishes iconicriviera.com, covering your use of this site and anything you buy from it. Using the site means you accept them. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
What Iconic Riviera is
We publish independent travel guides to the French Riviera, Monaco and the coast around them, and we sell memberships to the Insider Club. We are a publisher. We are not a travel agency, an estate agent, or a booking platform. Where we help a member arrange a stay, we act as an intermediary, and the contract for any room, table, tour or property is between you and that business.
The guides are information, not advice
We research everything we publish, and we correct what we get wrong. But prices, opening hours, transport, taxes and the rules for buying property in France all change, and they change without telling us. Nothing on this site is professional advice, whether legal, tax, financial, immigration or real-estate advice. Our property guides in particular are background reading, not a substitute for a notaire, a lawyer or a qualified adviser. Please check anything that matters before you act on it.
Insider Club membership
- What a membership includes is set out on the Insider Club page, and what applies to you is what that page said on the day you joined.
- Benefits that depend on other companies, such as room upgrades, hotel credits, preferred rates and similar, are provided by those companies on their own terms and are subject to availability.
- Membership is charged in advance for the plan you choose, and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
- You may cancel at any time from your account area, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a distance contract, that right applies and takes precedence over anything written here.
- If a payment has gone wrong, or you think a charge is a mistake, write to hello@iconicriviera.com and we will put it right.
- Accounts are personal. Please do not share your login, and please do not republish member-only guides.
Advertising and sponsored content
We accept a small amount of advertising and a few brand partnerships, described on our brand promotion page. Anything that has been paid for is labelled as such. Paying us does not buy a favourable review, and the final wording of anything editorial stays with us. Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy of their own claims and for holding the rights to whatever material they give us.
Our words and pictures
The text, photographs, maps and design on this site belong to us, or are used with permission, and they are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a credit and a link back. You may not copy a guide wholesale, republish our photographs, or use this site’s content to train a machine-learning model or to assemble a competing database, by hand or by automated means, without our written permission. Iconic Riviera and our logo are our marks.
What you send us
If you send us a comment, a photograph, a review or a suggestion, you keep ownership of it, and you give us permission to publish it on the site and in our newsletter with a credit. Please only send material that is actually yours, and please keep it civil and lawful. We may decline or remove anything.
Links to other sites
We link outwards constantly, because that is what a guide does. We are not responsible for other people’s sites, for what is on them, or for how they handle your information.
Availability
We try to keep the site up, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we may change, move or retire guides and features as the site develops.
Limits on our liability
The site and the guides are provided as they are. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or a spoiled holiday, or for anything arising from someone else’s act, a hotel that does not honour a rate, a property that turns out not to be what it seemed, a train that does not run. Where we are liable, our liability for anything connected with this site is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. None of this limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, and none of it affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
Indemnity
If your use of the site breaks these terms and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, in the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in Wyoming have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
Changes to these terms
We change the date at the top whenever we change these terms. Carrying on using the site after a change means you accept the new version. If we change membership terms in a way that matters, we will tell members by email before the change applies to them.
