Christmas in Nice, France
What better place to be at Christmas time than the wondrous city of Nice in France! Every year this season, the city turns into a magical place full of lights and colors.
With this list, Iconic Riviera will hit you with the best things to see and places to be in Nice during Christmas time.
Christmas Village and Market in Nice, France
Place Massena and Jardin Albert 1er will have a dressing up and will turn into a lovely Christmas village and market. Adding to the wintry feel, an enchanted forest of 600 fir trees will be set up on a dreamy winter landscape.
There will be 70 traditional chalets where you can find food and trinkets you are looking for to complete your holiday experience. From favorite delicacies to handicrafts, you will surely enjoy mixing with the joyous crowd as you buy special treats and gifts for your self, friends, and families.
Lights will glow and make the glittery Promenade des Anglais shine even more than usual. But it’s not only in this famous boulevard that will let you experience the twinkly show of lights. Every street, corner, and road, will be lit up with a spectacular display of sparkles complete with garlands and colorful decorations.
Kids will love the games and activities specially made for them. There are giant inflatables, trampolines, a Ferris wheel, skating rink, carousels, and a Christmas tree-shaped merry-go-round.
For kids and adults, there are free spectacles and fun workshops on every weekend of the season. You can also see ice sculptures, parades, and mini-concerts from time to time.
Of course, the experience will be incomplete without having a taste of the food and drink available on the stalls. Along with Christmas themed goodies, there will be sweets, roasted chestnuts, traditional mulled wine, and vin chaud. We recommend that you look for the oyster and champagne stalls. You can also have a cup of hot chocolate and eat some pancakes as you roam and explore the Christmas village, the fir forest, or the market.
Also. the temperature is what makes the experience unique. With a milder holiday season, which is somewhat cool, but remains temperate, it is an exquisite holiday encounter!
The Christmas village is open every day from December 6 to January 5 from 11 am to 8 pm (except for Friday and Saturday, which is until 9 pm)
